Jack and Kathy experienced no problems in getting on the United flight to Tokyo. Apparently, they were not on any Indian watch list. Honolulu was wonderful. They walked and talked on the beach every day. They took surfing lessons, and Kathy proved herself to be the better surfer. In the evenings, they took turns selecting a new restaurant for an eating adventure.

Kathy gave into her passion and her love without even caring if she became pregnant. Jack could not get over the difference between his first wife and his relationship with Kathy. The strain and horror of the last six months gradually lessened. The immediate threat to them was gone. Now they had to concentrate on the future.

Jack knew they had a serious security problem. Other Brandon real estate was not a safe place. On the last day in Honolulu, Jack and Kathy talked about their security problem on a secluded beach in a deep ravine just outside Honolulu. They could find no way around the problem al-Qaeda and anyone with contacts with the Indian police either had their names and descriptions or could get them. In Jack’s case the terrorists already had his name and photo. Apparently anyone who knew how to use Fahad’s web page could get the information. Realistically, that ruled out using the house on Amelia Island, which was already up for sale.

Jack owned several other immense properties, but they weren’t sure they wanted to live on any of them. Jack said he wouldn’t mind trying Pawleys Island, S.C. “South Carolina is a state of warriors. It is the only place I have ever been where people actually and sincerely thanked me for my service to the country.”

Kathy added, “We could try South Carolina or do what your father did. At some point he started from scratch. Why can’t we sell all the properties and start acquiring others in places where we would like to live and work? The Brandon name does not have to appear anywhere, and we can keep all our names out of the media, cancel all our credit cards, and pay cash from a bank account that does not lead to us. All large purchases can be made by various holding companies. I don’t know how to handle the problem of driver’s licenses, but I believe some smart attorney can figure it out. Jack you have to think about Lee Jensen. He is linked to your father in more ways than we know, and that is a danger to him. I don’t have an answer to your relationship to Lee Jensen, but it needs some thought. And don’t forget we ladies change our names all the time. You could be Mr. Grayson.”

“If that’s a proposal? I accept! But no big church wedding. I tried that once.”

Kathy laughed and said, “No dates yet. I wasn’t prepared for such a positive response. I need some time to think about the marriage thing. We are so good together now. Formal commitments have always frightened me.”

All too soon it was time for another trip to an airport for the flight home. Hours later Kathy led them to the car she had left at the Pittsburgh airport. Jack didn’t wake up until Kathy pulled into the kennel to pick up Shadow. Shadow came bouncing out to meet them, nearly knocking them down with his greeting.
