WHO TO VOTE FOR

A Democracy cannot exist without an informed citizenship. But who keeps the people informed? Certainly not the government. Governments often lie to the people. In the case of totalitarian governments the people know the government lies all the time. Since there is no such thing as free elections, votes don’t matter.

In our American Democracy votes count. Votes control what the government does. If voters don’t like what the Government is doing they vote to change it. That process means citizens can control the government they live under if they keep informed and understand they are responsible for what the Government they voted for is doing. If gas prices are five times higher than they were two years ago, if our southern border is only a line on a map and the cost of goods and services are climbing well beyond what many of us can afford, we are not going in the right direction.

Our once vaunted Justice system has lost its way. The FBI has forgotten no one in America is above the law. How can an objective to defund the police be consistent with law and order and the Government’s responsibility to protect its people? It can’t. Another anti-American and illegal action is the role leaders of our security and intelligence agencies have been playing in internal politics.

Voters who voted for the people and party that are responsible for these excesses must hold themselves responsible and vote to correct the numerous illegal actions we seem to be willing to ignore. But first we all become more informed. The media of the left and the right are not going to help us. They see their task as influencing us not informing us.

It is not that hard to stay informed. Pick four or five issues that are important to you and watch them. Here are some I use.

*The size of Government.

*The price of gas at the pump.

*Changes in the interest rate.

*The job market.

*Are my taxes higher or lower.

*Is the nation stronger and safer.

*Law and Order on the street.

*Do I have more or fewer personal life choices.

If you don’t like what you see in your issues, vote for change. If you expect the government or some politically controlled media outlet to inform you, move to any socialist or communist country. If you do nothing you will not have to move.
